Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur and owner of the social media platform X, has been actively promoting debunked conspiracy theories regarding the manipulation of election outcomes by voting machines. During a recent town hall event in Pennsylvania, he expressed his skepticism about technology, stating, “I am a technologist, I understand computers pretty well. And candidly, the last thing I would ever do is trust a computer program, because it is just too easy to hack.”

Musk, known for being one of Trump's most prominent supporters, has made substantial contributions to his political action committee, totaling $75 million, making him a significant political donor in the upcoming 2024 election cycle.

His recent tour of Pennsylvania has included public speaking events where he has been vocal about his views.

In his remarks during the town hall, Musk specifically mentioned Dominion, the voting machine company that previously sued Fox News for defamation over false claims of its involvement in vote manipulation.

He highlighted the connection between voting machines and Republican losses in places like Philadelphia and Arizona, questioning the presence of Dominion machines in certain areas. “There’s always a sort of question about the Dominion voting machines. It’s odd that they’re used in Philadelphia and Maricopa County, but not in many other areas,” he remarked, suggesting that this discrepancy might be a coincidence.

Musk further advocated for the use of paper ballots that are hand-counted, reflecting his distrust in electronic voting systems.

Following the 2020 election, Dominion filed several defamation lawsuits against various Trump supporters and media outlets that falsely accused the company of rigging votes, a point that continues to resonate amid ongoing discussions about election integrity.
